Here are some tips to help you choose the right chainsaw.
* Safety is important. Make sure the saw has essential safety features such as kick
back protection, chain brake, right hand guard and chain catcher stud.
Personal protection equipment must always be worn when using a chain saw.
* Are both handles adequately protected from vibration? Vibration will quickly make you tired.
* Choose a powerful enough saw right from the start. Many people buy an underpowered
saw the first time.
* Is the air filter designed to avoid clogging with sawdust.
* Is the saw easy to maintain.
* Is there a good user manual.
* Will the saw run on unleaded petrol.
* Can you use biodegradable oil on the chain.
* Can the dealer service your saw.
* Does the dealer stock spares and accessories.
* Will you be given instructions on how to use it.
* Always ask to see and test the saw before you make up your mind.
