Design at its best-

High performance guaranteed.

POWERSPLIT - main gearbox with splitdrive
(Welger patent).

The uncompromising main gearbox is a primary part on the baler chassis and the angular gears and transversal shafts are in a common box. Each shaft transmits the necessary amount of torque required therefore the gears, shafts and bearings are aligned even under the heaviest of working conditions, thus avoiding wear in these important machine parts, resulting in a long working life of all components and less power requirement. The special design allows a direct drive of the feed rotor without the use of intermediate gears giving high efficiency.

Wide Pickup.
RP 502 2.00m - RP 520 FARMER/MASTER 2.25 m
A unique feature of these pickups are that the tine bars are supported with roller bearings and the cranked tines are supported with a special cushioning bracket Pickup guide wheels are mounted on both sides of the machine and have a fine step adjustment. Wide feed augers bring in the largest of swaths. The pickup has hydraulic lift with relief springs which reduce the pressure on the guide wheels and enable quick reaction on uneven ground All these features combine to give a clean pickup of the crop and minimum ground damage.

Mechanical Tailgate Lock.
One- of the main features which give outstanding density to Welger balers are the mechanical tailgate locks. Robust hooks and unique release linkage ensure the tailgate does not open before the preset density is achieved.

Universal Drive shaft with cam type clutch.
All RP 520 models come with a heavy P.T.0 drive shaft with wide angle joint and Q S mounting on the tractor end, a cam clutch with free wheeling device is fitted to the baler end. The QS coupler allows for the driver to connect and disconnect the shaft quickly and easily. The cam type clutch with free wheeling is the most efficient safety device on the market against overload. This type of shaft can be ordered for the RP 502 as an option.

Feed rotor
All RP 502 end 520 balers come with feed rotors as standard giving power saving and guaranteeing high output

HYDROFLEXCONTROL
In contrast to the competition round balers the feeding channel floor is not rigidly welded to the baler chassis but is suspended with a flexible mounting. With this innovative design the floor can give way to small stones or unevenness in the swath thus avoiding any blockage of the rotor. This breathing of the feed table floor is a safe operating device, which reduces the risk of damage to important machine components and thus avoiding unnecessary interruptions in work.

The HYDROFLEXCONTROL floor can also be opened and closed from the tractor seat via two hydraulic cylinders. This is advantageous not only for changing or altering the cutting width of the knives but in the case of a major blockage the feed table floor can be simply opened and the rotor is allowed to convey the crop through to the bale chamber. After only a few seconds the driver can continue with work.
The HYDROFLEXCONTROL system is only available in Welger balers and is far superior to reversing systems through its speed and lack of strain on the machine it therefore increases output.

MASTERCUT cutting device.
The RP 520 FARMER and MASTER have had a cutting unit developed to meet all demands.
A large 500 mm diameter rotor in combination with rigidly mounted knives cuts the crop short enough that it can be used without problems in feeder / mixer wagons.
The extra strong knives have hydraulic breakback to protect against ingress of
foreign objects.
The knives can be changed without tools which allows for a quick change of cut length.
The knives are engaged and disengaged via double acting hydraulic rams even if the slots have a build up of chaff

BALERCONTROL E or E-link.
Even functional safe machines need to be correctly operated, controlled and monitored. In addition to the proven mechanical devices Lely Welger employs electronic bale control systems Balercontrol E or E-link. The most important functions can be controlled
from the tractor so that for example twine or net wrapping can be operated either manually or automatically and the bale count can be read easily during work. Using the E-link a large illuminated display can accurately be operated under the most difficult conditions.
